A New Poem
Wondering,
What’s the point
Of walking through this life
And all it’s pain and suffering?
My life isn’t actually that bad.
I have food to eat and
I’m not living on the street,
But tunnel vision triumphs
As heartache haunts me.
Sometimes it clamps
On like a vise,
And it gets hard to breathe.
Other times it comes in waves,
Blowing through like the wind on
A cold autumn day,
But it never truly seems to go away.
Clouds of despair
Linger in the air and
I can’t help but think
This life is just a cruel joke;
That someone, somewhere
Far off in the distance, is watching
And laughing
As if we were all pawns
In an experiment gone awry.
Even when the sun peeks through
The dark gloom,
Trying to offer a glimmer of hope,
I think,
What’s the point?
What’s the point
Of walking through this life
And all it’s pain and suffering?
My life isn’t actually that bad.
I have food to eat and
I’m not living on the street,
But tunnel vision triumphs
As heartache haunts me.
Sometimes it clamps
On like a vise,
And it gets hard to breathe.
Other times it comes in waves,
Blowing through like the wind on
A cold autumn day,
But it never truly seems to go away.
Clouds of despair
Linger in the air and
I can’t help but think
This life is just a cruel joke;
That someone, somewhere
Far off in the distance, is watching
And laughing
As if we were all pawns
In an experiment gone awry.
Even when the sun peeks through
The dark gloom,
Trying to offer a glimmer of hope,
I think,
What’s the point?
