Ode to an Icicle
Clear, yet opaque,
Hanging from the rafters...
Mysterious little icicle,
Formed by the melting rays of the sun,
Ironically put to death
In the same manner,
Slowly

Away into nothing;
Destined to a life
[imprisoned]
Only to be forgotten
When the winter winds
Stop blowing.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrribbit!
Meet Mortimer. A few weeks ago my friend, Jess, threw him in the air and he landed on the ceiling. He's been stuck there ever since... I guess I'm easily amused because I find it kind of amusing that I have a red stretchy frog sticking on the ceiling in my living room. I'm still waiting for it to fall on the head of some unsuspecting victim...

LOVED it!
I LOVED August Rush!!! If music touches your emotions in any way, you will probably like it too! A major theme running through the movie is: "The music is everywhere. All you have to do is listen." Freddie Highmore gives a hearfelt performance as an 11 year old boy, given up for adoption as an infant, that is confident he will find his birth parents if he can just get his song heard by enough people.

The Tree of Life
Is burning
With passion.
His rustling leaves
Beckon me
To let go of my burdens
And start climbing.
His waving branches
Summon me
Out of hiding,
Into His strong embrace.
His solid torso
Stands tall and unfaltering,
Keeping me safe
From every storm.
The Tree of Life
Is eternal,
Constantly calling
Me home.
