The Simpson's Movie

I chose the Korean movie poster just because it looks cool. This movie is not only well done visually and very clever, it had me laughing almost constantly all the way through! If you appreciate the humor on the television show, I highly recommend that you go see this movie!

Here's a small sneak peek:

Spiderpig, Spiderpig,
Does whatever a spiderpig does.
Can he swing, from a web?
No he can't, he's a pig.
Look out!
Here comes the Spiderpig!

Waves

"[Jesus] got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!"
Then the wind died down and it was completely calm." -- Mark 4:39 (NIV)

Thank you, Lord, that You rule over everything in heaven and on earth and that I have nothing to fear with You on my side!

One Body

"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free— and we were all given the one Spirit to drink." -- 1 Corinthians 12:12,13 (NIV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This photo reminded me of the above verse. To me, this flower appears to be raising it's petals to the heavens in worship. As I examined the picture, I noticed many tiny parts pointing up to the sky and "working together" to present an extremely beautiful offering to the Lord. It seems like such a simple thing. It's just a tiny plant, but it brought joy to my heart to see it. If something so small can bring a bit of happiness to my life, I can't even fathom how much it would touch the Father's heart to see all of His children rise up to give Him glory, together in unity.
Lord, thank you that You are worthy of all of our praises! Forgive us for trying to live our own lives apart from each other and apart from You. Help us to live as one body, according to Your will, so that You can receive all of the glory and honor that You deserve!
Baby Bunny
This brave bunny hopped out onto the playground at work, leaving the safety of the nest and 5 siblings behind. With a little help, he made it back to the nest under the slide. The mother has since moved the nest to a location where the children don't have such easy access. We're just praying that the hawks that live in the neighborhood don't get them now!
Extreme Sadness
Ice cream melting on
the sidewalk makes me sad and
I cry giant tears.
Butterfly Kisses
"Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." --Psalm 37:4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am extremely fascinated by butterflies, and if you visit this blog occasionally I'm sure you've noticed that I love photographing them too. Besides being beautiful subject matter, butterflies don't seem to like to sit still very long and I love the challenge of getting the improbable shot. The butterfly shown above actually sat on my finger for a few seconds and "licked" me with it's proboscis before it flew over to the stone wall that it is seen resting on. It made me smile and reminded me that God does know the desires of our hearts from our deepest dreams down to silly little childlike thoughts like, "It would be really cool if that bug sat on my hand for a little while!"

Lord, thank you for sending me smiles by knowing every little thing about me. Thank you for blessing me by fulfilling my needs and my desires. My heart delights in You!

This butterfly is probably wondering what the big, silver, shiny thing is that is coming toward it through the tall grass. I was on a nature walk with a group of 3 and 4 year olds when I saw this Monarch. If you look closely, you can see that it is looking at the camera.
